What to Expect
Our ceremony and reception will be in the same indoor location in downtown Austin, near the University of Texas campus. Nearby parking is provided by the venue and there are many ride share options. See the Travel & Stay section for more.
We love to eat and drink. Our menu will have a beef, poultry, and vegetarian options and we will ask for your preferences and allergies with the formal invitation. We will also be featuring signature cocktails and mocktails and an array of beer, wine, and spirits to ensure nobody goes thirsty.
Austin is the live music capital of the world and, as a nod to that, we have secured a live band for the evening. We are soliciting song requests so email us to let us know what would get you on the dance floor.
While we love children and especially yours, we want the focus to be on the celebration and for everybody to fully enjoy themselves. Therefore, we are not accommodating anybody under the age of 18 years old, except nursing infants and select family members. We will have a lactation room available for the duration of the wedding for our mommas (see below).
The Venue
A few holidays ago, Edward got us tickets for a candlelight christmas music event at The Mansion. Immediately upon entering the Grand Ballroom, Merritt exclaimed, "This would be perfect for our wedding!" When we got engaged, it was the first place we thought of and toured and we were sold.
Built in the 1930s and impecably maintained, The Mansion embodies a classic and timeless warmth that we feel at home in. Better yet, it is managed by a non-profit organization that brings good and literacy to many Texas communities. We hope you enjoy perusing The Library, which contains many first-edition prints, and exploring the various other rooms. If you are musically inclined and feel so driven, we hope you pound a few keys out on the grand piano in The Formal Dining Room.

Suggested Attire
Weather in Austin is always unpredictable, but especially so in February. Therefore, we have opted for a 100% indoor venue. We couldn't have winter coats or rain jackets ruining your outfits!
Guests are encouraged to dress in semi-formal attire. We suggest suits (tie optional) for gentlemen and cocktail dresses or pantsuits for ladies. Please wear comfortable shoes because we plan to dance! Our wedding party will be wearing black and white with warm metal accents; groomsmen will be in tuxedos.
Accessibility & Special Requests
We are only comfortable and happy if you are, truly. Therefore, we are striving to anticipate (and address) any special accommodations you may need to have the best time you can at our wedding. We have listed our most anticipated accommodations and how we are addressing them. If you have another special request, please contact either of us directly and we will work to ensure we can help.
Limited mobility: Parking is available at our venue for those who prefer not to walk long distances. Our venue is ADA-accessible and wheelchair or walker-friendly and the flooring is consistent throughout (no pebbles or soft surfaces). We want to keep you safe; kindly let us know if you require assistance and/or another accommodation.
Lactating mothers and infants: We have been joking that our "lactation room" might be the most *popping* room at our wedding, and we may be right. We are blessed with many family and friends who have infants and/or are actively lactating. Therefore, we have dedicated an area for mothers to nurse, pump, and address their child's needs. Other areas are also available for Dad to change diapers and provide bottles. Please let us know if you need access to a refrigerator to store breastmilk.
Access to electrical outlets: If you require an oxygen machine, or anything else requiring an electrical outlet, we have you covered! Our venue has several electrical outlets throughout and there are private areas to allow you to receive the therapies you require to be healthy and comfortable. Please feel free to bring your medical devices and we will store them and provide you with a dedicated area to relax, as needed.
Sensory sensitivities: Weddings can be a lot. We will have a live band, which will be loud, but will not have strobing lights and/or sudden noises, such as fireworks. Our photographers will also not use flash photography unnecessarily. We have rented the entire venue, which includes quiet and lower-sensory indoor options. You are also welcome to take some time to yourself outside, as our venue features an inner, private courtyard. If you anticipate needing additional space, please let us know.
